If you would like to be environmentally conscious, you would never think that owning a Hummer would be part of it. General Motors has obtained the Hummer brand and is making attempts to create one that runs on alternative fuels. As the regular Hummer gets terrible gas mileage and uses considerably more gas than a regular vehicle, it has never been a favorite of the environmentalists. It simply made sense that an alternative fuel Hummer would be created by someone, so that people could afford them, and the environment would not be affected adversely.

Not only that, Tom successfully turned it into a profitable business selling modified Hummers.

Tom also has tricked up these Hummers to make them more attractive to the young population. The younger generation likes the cutting-edge look while being earth-friendly and fuel efficient. These Hummers use less oil than hybrid cars because they are powered by biodiesel fuel. Incredibly, you can use normal vegetable oil as alternative fuel to run the Hummer. You will probably be astounded that this Hummer might be the largest car on the freeway, but it gets 23 miles per gallon, and doesn't use one drop of oil.

Famous people seem to be big on the environmental movement, especially with their cars, even to liking these alternative fuel Hummers. FormerCalifornia governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger has two environment-friendly Hummers. He even had one that ran only on hydrogen, which emits no greenhouse gas. Anytime you have a car that does not emit any greenhouse gas is a great thing. These days, you can get the Hummer that you always wanted without having to be concerned about hurting the environment.

You can get a ready-made eco-friendly Hummer or you can have your existing Hummer converted. While it may cost you a lot, you will be doing your part in saving the earth in the long run.
